Blackstock-Nestleton United Church

Enthusiastic congregation of The United Church Of Canada

BNUC Choir

Our choir has been inactive during the COVID epidemic.

However, Frances Grove has faithfully sung hymns and all music for our ZOOM worship services, when legally allowed to do so, during this time. We are enjoying her beautiful voice – music is always appreciated in worship.

We have an excellent organist and choir director in Linda Kyte.

Her piano/organ duets are especially enjoyed and listened to with awe

by those who have never known one person to play both instruments at the same time.

Oh, the wonder of technology!

On Dec. 15, 2019 the choir presented the Cantata “Dream a Dream“.

The choir practiced after the worship service on Sunday mornings.

They usually sing an anthem each week to highlight the theme of the service

and present a Cantata at Christmas time.

Michelle leads a hand drumming group in the church

and each Sunday she is often joined by Shirley as they accompany the hymns.

Stained glass (made by Deanna Grove).

In June our church is asked to make a special effort to fill the coffers at the local Food Bank. Non perishable food is always needed in our area for those less fortunate than ourselves.

We acknowledge that we are on Williams Treaty Territory and the traditional land of the Mississauga of Scugog Island. We are located in different ways in this history and place; we pay our respect to the First Nations ancestors of this place and remember the history of colonization. We acknowledge that we are all Treaty people.
